Top 4 Essential Oils to “Chill Out” Hot Flashes

My two professional passions in life are working with essential oils and helping women navigate the menopause years. It is such a blessing to me that these two passions go hand in hand.

The more I learn about essential oils, the more gratitude and awe I have for the plants and their ability to help the body find balance. Menopause is a time to re-establish a sense of balance in our bodies and allow us to reclaim our vibrancy for this next chapter of our lives.

One of the biggest imbalances women experience in the menopause years is Hot Flashes. I want to share with you 4 essential oils that have helped me over the years. Clary Sage, Cypress, Geranium & Peppermint. Together, these oils are a pure powerhouse for managing hot flashes and night sweats. Beyond that they are there to support such things a cognitive function, cortisol levels, sleep, liver function and blood sugar balance, all of which are key to overall hormonal health.

Let’s take a look at the list of super powers each oil possesses.

Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens) - Strong antioxidant compounds, calms the nervous system, detoxifying, pain reliever, gets rid of excess fluid, relieves bloating, manages perspiration, helps reduce cholesterol levels, relieves hot flashes, tones and strengthens circulatory system, relieves lymphatic congestion, aids in regulating menstrual cycles.

Geranium (Pelargonium roseum x asperum) - sedative properties, nerve tonic, relieves hot flashes, pain reliever, emotionally uplifting, reduces yeast and fungal infections, eases anxiety and stress, improves mood swings, supports healthy skin, eases heart palpitations, helps with salt cravings and fluid retention, offers blood sugar balance, liver and pelvic decongestant.

Peppermint (Mentha X piperita) - Adaptogen, anti-inflammatory, relieves menstrual pain, improves brain function, relieves muscle spasms, encourages hair growth, relieves PMS, blood cleanser, moves stagnation, reduce hot flashes, nerve tonic, digestive soother for IBS.
